Hello everybody! Today, for another love themed post, I’m going to be writing about my top 5 romance films, which are undoubtedly my favourite type! Onto the post!
The Proposal- I only watched this for the first time this year, and I’ve only seen it once, but I adored it. Sandra Bullock is hilarious and Ryan Reynolds is fabulous too, I love hate to love done well and the whole plot of them going away to his parents and faking an engagement is delightful. I can’t wait to see it again!
Brooklyn- the best way I can think of to describe this is beautiful. So much of the scenery and how it’s shot is simply stunning. It’s set in the 1950s as Eliis moves to New York in search of a better life. I adore her main love interest Tony and I was desperately rooting for them when Eilis returns to Ireland. It made me cry more than once, but also laugh, and it’s a really fantastic film.
Pretty Woman- A romcom classic, this is easily my favourite Julia Roberts film (I’m generally not bowled over…), and Richard Gere is also wonderful. I’m pretty sure everyone knows this story, but if you don’t, it’s about a business relationship of rather an unusual sort becoming not so professional after all.
Pretty in Pink- I’m sure you’ll all drop dead in shock this is on my list, if you know the way I feel about this film. Every time I watch it, I’m instantly sucked into the world and I always, always love every minute. The soundtrack is phenomenal, Molly Ringwald is awesome as Andie and I love love LOVE the romantic elements. If you’re interested, I’m Team Duckie forever, much as Blane is handsome and sweet.
Bridget Jones’s Baby- another all time favourite, this is very much my favourite Bridget Jones film. My mum and I saw it 3 times in the cinema, and have watched it many more on DVD now. There’s lots of romantic moments, both with Mr Darcy and new addition Jack, and of course plenty of laugh out loud moments.
Thank you so much for reading! What do you think of these films? What are your favourite romance films? I’d love to hear down in the comments or on Twitter @GoldenBooksGirl

Pretty Woman all the way. Julia Roberts’ laugh when Richard Gere snaps the jewellery case shut on her fingers is worth a million dollars. She was absolutely luminous in that film, it’s one of my all-time favourites! xx

It’s been way too long since I saw it last! It’s my fave Julia Roberts film I’ve seen; she sometimes bugs me in other things e.g. Notting Hill 🙈 xx

The Proposal is one of my favorites too. If you haven’t checked A Walk To Remember you should check it out and other books of Nicholas Sparks that were adapted to movies.
