My Most Anticipated July-August Releases

Hello everybody!

Today, I’m going to be talking about my most anticipated releases of July and August. Onto the post!

The Storm Keeper’s Island– this book, which is an MG fantasy set on the island of Arannmore, sounds incredibly up my alley as I love a good magical fantasy, and I’ve been desperate to read it since it was announced. Also, how stunning is the cover? The rose gold foiling/spine is absolutely gorgeous.

The Frozen Telescope– I’m a big fan of the Uncommoners trilogy, and the phenomenal worldbuilding is a big reason for that. Given we’re getting to explore a whole new undermart in America this time, I could not be more excited. I can’t wait to see Scratch (Ivy’s ADORABLE sidekick) again too!

Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes?- this is set at a summer camp with a difference, in that it accepts teens with various issues, and I LOVE a summer camp setting so I was very excited about this when I read the blurb for the first time. However, I also love Holly Bourne, and so I was excited about this book before it even had a description.

The Friendship Fails of Emma Nash– I thought Editing Emma was hilarious when I read it last year, and I’m sure this sequel will make me laugh out loud too. The first had a focus on dating, while this is more about friendship, and given that Emma’s relationship with her friends was one of my favourite things about book one this sounds especially good.

Only Love Can Break Your Heart– I adored Wing Jones, and I’ve been excited for this book for such a long time. The setting sounds really interesting, I’m looking forward to getting to know Reiko- who sounds like a very different character to Wing- and the cover is absolutely gorgeous.

Flight– I feel like this will be an absolute tearjerker, but I’m excited nonetheless. I know a little of Lipizzaners from being a Pony Club Secrets fangirl, and I think they’re incredible, so I’m very much looking forward to learning more about them, and seeing them during wartime.

Secrets of a Sun King– this is one of my absolute most anticipated books of the year. As you may know, I am a massive, MASSIVE Emma Carroll fan, and I’m so excited to see her take on Ancient Egypt, and probably learn quite a bit in the process. I’m sure the writing will be stunning, as always, and that I’ll adore the main character.

Peril in Paris– I was a big fan of the Sinclair’s series, and I’m looking forward to the first of the followup series following Sophie and Lil as they travel the world as spies. The setting was one of my favourite elements of the Sinclair’s books, and I think them being abroad will be amazing!

Jinxed– I really enjoyed the Potion Diaries trilogy by this author, and her new one sounds even better. I love the concept, and I think Jinx sounds like a fantastic animal character.

Songs About a Boy– I’ve really enjoyed both of the previous installments in this trilogy, and am excited to see Charlie and Fire and Lights again soon, particularly to unravel the mysteriesof Charlie’s mum’s past, and see whether Charlie chooses Gabe or Olly in the love triangle.

The Cradle of All Worlds– as you might have guessed, MG fantasy is one of my favourite genres, and I really like the sound of this world. The adventure, in which the girl needs to find her father, also sounds exciting.

What are your most anticipated books for these months? Are any the same as mine? What did you think if you’ve read them already? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @GoldenBooksGirl!

  1. I very much like the sound of both The Storm Keeper’s Island and The Cradle of All Worlds. Like you, I’m a sucker for magical fantasy. My all time favourite trilogy is Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone set – if you haven’t come across them before I think you’d love them! x
