5 Films I Watched in May and June

Hello everybody!

Today, I’m going to be talking about the films I watched May and June, and my thoughts on them. Onto the post!

The Kissing Booth– I watched this very soon after it premiered on Netflix, and I quite enjoyed it, despite a couple of things I wasn’t keen on. I really liked Elle and the friendship she and Lee shared, but I was less keen on Noah/their romance and Lee really annoyed me at a few points as a character. It was so cool (if a tad weird, given I mainly see her as a teenager in Pretty in Pink or the Breakfast Club) to see Molly Ringwald too, and the setting was beautiful.

Frozen– after getting my Twitter followers to pick me a film when I was feeling pretty rubbish one night (big shoutout to my health condition for that, it was super fun feeling majorly ill all day), my friend Lou and I buddy watched this, with Charlotte providing HILARIOUS commentary. It really cheered me up, even though I still felt ill, and there was lots of laughing emojis involved in the chat. I took my sinagalong very seriously and we chatted about how much we love Anna and Elsa and Olaf and Sven, and despise Hans and Kristoff, among other things such as who our Disney animal sidekick might be (Tigger is mine allegedly)

The Little Mermaid– after the fun we had with Frozen, it seemed only natural to ask Louise to watch another film with me soon after. Discussions this time around included how much we LOVE Flounder (and that we think Ariel is kinda mean to him), how cute Max is and how cool Sebastian is, our belief that Ursula is a sassy, all round awesome villain and of course we did some singalongs to Poor Unfortunate Souls, Under the Sea and Kiss the Girl. I love the hand-drawn animation of the film, and I really shouldn’t leave it so long between rewatches next time!

Ratatouille– Louise and I’s next choice of buddy watch was Ratatouille, which I’ve not seen in years either. Our main thoughts here were that we think Remy is too precious for this earth (our heart was breaking for him at so many points throughout), Colette is a total badass and that this film is a huge amount of fun (despite some really odd scenes and a plot device ghost).

Brave– you guessed it, this was another buddy watch with Louise, and it was as fab as all the others. (And another one I’ve not watched in far too long!). We adore Merida, we loved that the plot focused on family rather than romance, and we (of course) loved Angus, Merida’s horse. I also found Merida’s mischevious brothers hilarious, and it was fun to hear so many Scottish accents.

What films have you watched over the last few months? Have you ever seen any of these, or do you want to? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @GoldenBooksGirl!
