5 Songs I Think Would Make Great Books

Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be talking about some of the songs I think would make excellent books, which are, as I’ve noticed while typing this, mainly romance book premises- sorry not sorry, I love reading a good romance and these would be great ones! Onto the post!

Sugarcoat by George Ezra– this is so dreamy and romantic and lovely that I feel transported by it in song form, so I can’t imagine how great it’d be for escapism as a book. It’s also set on a trip to South Africa, which could be a really great backdrop for a romance.

Not a One by The Young Wild– this was the song that inspired this whole post- it’s about people running from “the Masquerades” and every time I listen to Into the Ark’s version (I kind of can’t stand the way it’s sung by the Young Wild…) I’m desperate to know more. Who are the Masquerades, and why do they want to shed blood? Do the people we follow during the song make it? I have so many questions! It’d make a brilliant fantasy book, right?

Love Story by Taylor Swift– I’ve always loved that this is basically Romeo and Juliet with a happy ending, and I think it’d be lovely to read about too. Another huge reason is that it begins at a ball, and in a book there could maybe be a few of these scenes. I love a good ballroom scene, I really do!

If You Ever Want to Be in Love by James Bay– I have super mixed feelings on James Bay’s music, but I adore this song. It’s about people who’ve grown apart coming back together, and one of them having unexplored feelings, and given how much I enjoy slowburning romances I think this would be absolutely phenomenal. It’d be especially interesting if the book

There’s Nothing Holding Me Back by Shawn Mendes– I think the girl in this might end up annoying me slightly, but I still think it’d be a fab book! It’s such a fun song that it would be great for a lighthearted read, and from the sounds of it could be about a celebrity relationship, which is so interesting to read about.

What songs do you think would make interesting books? Are there any we agree on? I’d love to hear in the comments!

    1. So glad you liked it, I was so worried it was really weird when I wrote it that I debated not posting it πŸ˜‚. I do have a few darker ones I didn’t include here, mainly in case people thought it was odd to want a book of Drawing Board by George Ezra!

      1. I don’t know that song either, so I for one don’t find it odd πŸ˜‚ I’ll have to come back to you with my choices when I’ve mulled it over…

  1. This is such a fun and original idea for a post! I love George Ezra and I’d totally read a novel based on Sugarcoat. Now I want to listen to all my favorite songs and see if any would make interesting stories!
