The 5Ws Book Tag

Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be doing the 5Ws Book Tag, which I pinched from Justine as I really liked the questions! Onto the post!

1 – WHO? Who is an author you’d love to have a one on one with?

I think this would have to be Holly Smale. She’s hilarious, and seems very wise from a lot of the things I’ve read in her books and also seeing her speak at EdinburghBook Festival/reading articles and interviews and guest posts with her. I’d also love to get more of an insight into the Geek Girl books because they are among my all time favourites.

2 – WHAT? What genre or style do you most gravitate to?

I think I read fantasy most often, but my absolute favourite genre is mystery (but I’m very picky about them, so I don’t end up absolutely LOVING that many, though there are lots I enjoy)

3 – WHERE? Where do you prefer to read?

My couch, because it’s super comfy! Preferably with a blanket while wearing pyjamas.

4 – WHEN? What time of the day do you prefer to read?

My Favourite time of day to read is in the afternoon, but I end up reading in bed at night most often.

5 – WHY? Why is your favourite book your favourite book?

Like Justine, I don’t think I could name just one favourite book, but the main reason for those I consider favourites being my favourites is almost always that I adore the characters.

BONUS! How do you go about selecting what you’ll read next?

This is an interesting one, because it’s wildly different now I blog than it was before. Now I tend to read based on what I “should” read in terms of review copies, which are chosen based on order of priority (ie release date, what publishers have asked me for etc) and then squeeze in library/bought books around them, and tend to pick those randomly. Pre-blogging, I used to just pick up anything at random and ended up allowing myself to reread a lot.

What would your answers to some of these questions be? I’d love to hear in the comments!

  1. Ooh, I think I’ll pinch this in place of a WWW Wednesday this week!
I think it’s interesting what you say about mystery being your favourite but reading more fantasy – it makes sense though.x

  2. Ah, I’d put it down to what you were saying about being picky on the mystery front (and so not reading as many) but you’re right there are a lot of fantasy type books at the moment.x
