The Hamilton Book Tag

Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be doing the Hamilton Book Tag, which I found on Pretty Purple Polka Dots and really wanted to do despite only having heard a few songs from the show, since I really liked the question. Onto the post!

The Room Where It Happens: Book world you would put yourself in

Probably Geek Girl’s. Which is our world, but I want to specifically meet the people Harriet knows and see the places she sees etc. What can I say? I’m absolute trash for Geek Girl.

The Schuyler Sisters: Underrated Female Character

I can think of loads just off the top of my head, but I think Storm from Storm Witch is really underappreciated. The book is very underrated too; I barely know anyone else who’s read it and it’s fabulous.

My Shot: A character that goes after what they want and doesn’t let anything stop them

I don’t approve of her methods, but you could never say Lucretia Cutter wasn’t ambitious. I think she did genuinely thought she was doing the right thing, too, although it definitely doesn’t excuse the whole being evil thing.

Stay Alive: A character you wish was still alive

There are loads, but the one that’s least likely to actually spoil anyone for anything is Sirius Black. I was devestated at the end of Order of the Phoenix.

Burn: The most heartbreaking end to a relationship you’ve ever read

Honestly, Harriet and Nick at the end of Picture Perfect, but I suppose I’d better think of something else so you don’t think I’m completely obsessed with Geek Girl. There is one that doesn’t work out in Fierce Fragile Hearts that I found heartbreaking. And this may sound odd, but the parents in I, Cosmo.

You’ll Be Back: Sassiest villain

Thanatos and Hypnos from the Who Let the Gods Out series are pretty sassy. Maz Evans writes AMAZING villains.

The Reynolds Pamphlet – A book with a twist that you didn’t see coming

The Unicorn Quest/Secret in the Stone have absolutely incredible twists!

Non-stop: A series you marathoned

I don’t do that all that often. I read the Spellchasers trilogy back to back though, and enjoyed that so much. I think I may have done the same with the First Aid for Fairies books by the same author actually.

Satisfied: Favorite book with multiple POVs

It’s not a conventional dual narrative but Mo, Lottie and the Junkers gives both their perspectives and it’s brilliant.

Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story: A book/series you feel like will be remembered throughout history

I don’t know if they will be, because my crystal ball isn’t working today, but I really hope that the Murder Most Unladylike series are regarded the way things like Agatha Christie and Enid Blyton books are today, in the future.

Helpless: A relationship you were pulling for from the start

God, so many. Nick and Harriet goes without saying, right? I was dying for Finch and Hector from Flying Tips for Flightless Birds to just hurry up and get together from the very beginning because it was obvious they liked each other!

Ten Duel Commandments: Favorite fight scene

I can’t really think of one, to be honest. I find reading/watching fight scenes pretty boring most of the time, unless they’re as iconic as the Dynasty pool fight in Enter Alexis…

Say No To This: Guilty pleasure read

If I want to read it, I’m not going to waste time feeling guilty about it!

What Comes Next: A series you wish had more books

The Adventure Island books! There are loads, but I just wanted them to go on forever and ever.

Right Hand Man – Favorite BROTP

I’m really struggling with this; I can’t read many books with two male besties in it…! I don’t want to steal Aoife’s answer but I think I have to because I’m struggling to think of a male duo I like as much as Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Unless I can count Nick and Wilbur’s hilarious interactions in, you guessed it, the Geek Girl books?

What’d I Miss: A book or series you were late to reading

I am late to reading so many things! I didn’t start liking Harry Potter till I was 14 (I read them when I was like 10 and didn’t really like them, so I’m so glad I gave them another chance because I love them now and I’d feel like a total fish out of blogging water if I hated them now…)

What would your answers to some of these be? I’d love to hear in the comments!

    1. Lupin absolutely broke my heart as well! And Dobby. They’re probably my top 3 saddest HP deaths. Storm Witch is absolutely amazing; I really hope you love it. I’m DYING for Under Earth to be out. The release kept being pushed back so I feel like I’ve had to wait ages even though I haven’t really 😂
