2019 Films I’ve Not Seen Yet but Want To

Hello everybody! I couldn’t decide what my post for the day you’re reading this on should be, and then I remembered that I did a post very similar to this one at this time last year, and decided to steal past me’s idea to do again, because I really enjoyed writing that AND because I could think of loads of films that could be part of it. Onto the post!

Yesterday– I missed this when it was in the cinema, and I’m so looking forward to watching it when I can. I’m not a diehard Beatles fan or anything, but I do really like some of their songs (Hey Jude is my fave, and one of the reasons why that’s one of my favourite boys’ names) and this just sounds so good- it’s about what happens when everyone seems to have forgotten the Beatles, barring one singer-songwriter. Also, if Danny Boyle can make me like a sci-fi film, he’ll have to be doing something very wrong if I don’t like his romantic musical.

Toy Story 4- no one needed to see me crying at this, so I’m waiting on the DVD patiently (ish). Toy Story breaks me EVERY TIME, and I have no doubt that the latest in the franchise will do the exact same. It’s going to be so weird watching it knowing Annie Potts is Iona in Pretty in Pink though. I love Iona so much I can’t imagine that voice being anyone else.

The Art of Racing in the Rain– I am more than likely not going to be able to see this due to the effects my local cinema doing renovations is having and I am not amused about it, let me tell you. I LOVE Milo Vemtimiglia. Milo Vemtimiglia with a golden retriever sounds like a film so up my alley I could genuinely have written it myself! I know next to nothing about the plot of this, and I do not care. Milo and golden retrievers for the win.

Blinded by the Light– I know very little about this other than it’s do with Bruce Springsteen’s music, but it’s getting rave reviews (I’ve seen lots calling it the feelgood film of the year, which is very promising) and it sounds like it’ll be very much my vibe, so I’m definitely up for giving it a go once the DVD is out.

Last Christmas– this is out just before my birthday and it could honestly have been written as a gift for me. I did not watch Game of Thrones, but I do like Emilia Clarke as a human rather a lot and Henry Golding was by far my fave bit of Crazy Rich Asians, so that bodes well. Also, I’m a sucker for a good Christmas romance (see my obsession with the Holiday Calendar for proof of this) and this just seems like festive Bridget Jones that also might deal with the aftermath of illness. I’m so here for it (but I’m going to be FUMING if he’s an angel/ghost or something of that ilk)

What 2019 releases do you want to see that you haven’t yet? Do we share any? I’d love to hear in the comments!

  1. Oh don’t put a jinx on Last Christmas being a It’s a Wonderful Life in London then she dies instead of running up and down saying ‘merry Christmas Piccadilly Circus!’ 😱 – please be talking about her previous Christmas not this one being arghhh

  2. I’ve totally lost touch with film releases of late but my friend riday said he saw a preview of the new Pedro Almodovar and it was great so I’ll probably try and watch that at some point way down the line.
Im not sure about Toy Story 4.i loved these films, but I feel like 3 ended it well. I’m not sure about it now continuing again.
