The Stay at Home Book Tag

Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be doing the Stay at Home book tag, which I found on Steph’s blog. Onto the post!

Laying in Bed – book you could/have read in a day

I recently read City of Heavenly Fire in a day. Which I am immensely proud of, given the substantial size of that book.

Snacking – guilty pleasure book

I don’t really believe that I should feel guilty for anything I enjoy? I read for fun, not to please other people. And I don’t feel guilty for snacking either.

Netflix – series you want to start

I wasn’t expecting this to be the hardest question, but here we are I suppose. I really want to read the Infernal Devices series, but I’ve already read a bunch of Shadowhunters books so that doesn’t really count. I really want to get to the Strangeworlds Travel Agency soon, and that’s the start of a series!

Deep Clean – been on your TBR for ages

I have an embarassing number of books I could say for this. Podkin One Ear leaps immediately to mind, but I’m very ashamed that I haven’t read the Frozen Telescope yet as well given how excited I was before it got released.

ANIMAL CROSSING – BOOK YOU RECENTLY BOUGHT BECAUSE OF HYPE

It was a good while before coronavirus was even a thing I’d heard of I think, but the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Which I have still not read, come to think of it…

PRODUCTIVITY – BOOK YOU LEARNT OR HAD AN IMPACT ON YOU

This is probably going to sound like an odd answer if you don’t know me, but the Geek Girl series. They made my world make more sense when I was 13/14, and I will always, always love them for giving me that gift (and the joy of reading them, because they’re brilliant anyway)

FACETIME – A BOOK YOU WERE GIFTED

Given how many bookish people I know and how much I like books, I actually don’t really get books as gifts for things that often. I know my copy of Dead Man’s Cove was a gift (my dad used to buy me a book he thought I’d really like when we went on summer holidays when I was younger, and this was probably my favourite one ever of these!!)

SELF CARE – WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU HAVE DONE RECENTLY TO LOOK AFTER YOURSELF?

Umm I don’t know? I’m not especially good at looking after myself; people tell me off for it quite a lot actually! The best I can come up with, stupid as it sounds, is spending a lot of time on music- I’ve found a new band I’m obsessed with and having something like that to focus on is really helping. I also watched a recording of an Oasis concert the other day and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed that!

BONUS – NAME A BOOK COMING OUT SOON

I am SO excited for the Promise Witch. Desperately hoping it sticks with the original publication date because it’s the final book in one of my favourite series.

Thank you so much for reading! What have you been doing to try and keep busy during lockdown? Do you have any thoughts on the books I’ve mentioned here? I’d love to hear in the comments!
