The 73 Things About Me Tag

Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be doing the 73 Questions tag, which I found on Lisa’s blog and have been meaning to do ever since. Onto the post!

1. What is your usual Starbucks order?

Don’t have one! I don’t really drink coffee or tea or anything.

2. What does your workstation look like right now?

I don’t really have one! I promise this isn’t my answer to everything.

3. All time favourite food?

This is difficult but probably chocolate.

4. Favourite author? I definitely can’t pick just one!

Although if you really forced me I’d probably go for Emma Carroll.

5. What do you think of open relationships?

I wouldn’t want one for myself but I’ve nothing against anyone else having them.

6. Favourite video game?

I used to play the Sims so much! It broke my laptop at the time though and then I just never reinstalled them, but I really should because I miss it a lot! Although I probably get a lot more done now than when I played it because I was ever so slightly addicted.

7. Guilty pleasure treat?

I’ve said this before but I don’t think anyone should feel guilty over something they love! That said, I suppose my slight addiction to TOWIE probably fits. I’m ridiculously invested in some of their lives, I want Yaz and Lockie to have a happy ending so much! And I legit cried because I was so happy for Diags when I found out he’s finally got a girlfriend. Some of my other faves include Tommy and Georgia (and Monki!!), Amy Childs, Pete Wicks and from the newer cast my fave is Chloe B, she’s really funny sometimes!

8. Favourite film?

Easily Pretty in Pink!

9. Favourite book?

I can’t pick just one!

10. Twitter or Instagram?

I don’t really like either to be honest but I use Twitter more.

11. Desktop or laptop?

Laptop! I get quite a lot of back pain because my spine surgery scar is extremely temperamental so I don’t enjoy sitting in any seat that isn’t soft and comfy.

12. Best advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t listen to the opinions of people you wouldn’t want the advice of. Which I’m AWFUL at actually taking but I do think it’s true.

13. What project are you working on right now?

I’ve been planning some very exciting blog posts recently, that I’m really hoping will happen!

14. Favourite colour?

Purple, although red is a very close second and blush pink is getting right up there recently. And I love turquoise/aqua as well.

15. Did you get good grades at school?

Mostly, yeah! My worst grades are my National 5 Maths and Advanced Higher English, I got a C for both.

16. Dream job?

Running my own translation service!

17. Played any sports?

Absolutely not! I’m not actually allowed to take part in team sports because of my health condition, but I didn’t really like them even before that.

18. Do you have a degree?

Not yet! I’m currently a French and Spanish student.

19. Nationality?

Scottish/British

20. What is your favourite kind of blog post to do?

I’ve said this before in a post recently, but doing author interviews is incredible and I still can’t believe I get to do that.

21. What do you like to collect?

A better question may be what I don’t like to collect!! My family and friends often say they think the people from that show Hoarders would be seriously concerned if they saw the amount of stuff I have. Some main ones are dresses, lipsticks, pyjamas, DVDs and obviously books as well.

22. Describe yourself in 3 words?

I really don’t know? I feel like it’ll sound arrogant if I say nice things about myself

23. If you were a rapper what would your rapper name be?

Oh I’ve no idea. I wouldn’t want to be one so I’ve never thought about it!

24. Who was the last person you DMed?

One of my friends from uni!

25. What’s on the top of your wish list right now? Right this second, a very pretty pink floral dress I just saw online that’s exactly the kind of thing I like to wear! I was clearing out my wardrobe the other day and I have way less pink clothes than I thought so I’m trying to remedy that at the moment.

26. Hogwarts House?

I’m a Ravenclaw, although after JKR’s recent transphobic comments I don’t plan to use it in bios etc anymore.

27. How many tattoos do you have?

5 at the time of writing, but I’m booked in for a couple more very soon so I might have those by the time you read this, depending on when I end up posting it! You can read all about them in this post, and there’s photos of them in it too.

28. What are you most grateful for this year?

This is really hard to answer, but I think I’m going to be true to my music geek ways and say the band Vistas. They have been such a spot of sunshine when the world has often felt pretty surreal, and I’m so grateful that Spotify recommended them to me because they’ve very quickly become a really special band to me.

29. What’s the best thing that’s happened to you this month?

An author sent me the absolute LOVELIEST email asking if I’d be up for having her do a guest post, and I was absolutely bowled over because I’m so honoured to host authors and to have someone ask me was really special.

30. What’s the best thing that’s happened to you today?

Vistas finally releasing their Spotify singles after teasing it all week! I’m obsessed with the new version of Sucker, and Adore You is better than the original in my opinion (but I’m biased!).

31. What’s the best thing ever?

My dogs. They’re so funny and snuggly and brilliant, and I love being with them.

32. Favourite season?

I think autumn just pips it but I’m like spring as well, I love seeing little lambs in fields.

33. Favourite holiday?

Not sure if this means like occasions or a holiday I’ve been on? Anything in Northumberland if the latter, and my birthday for the former.

34. Which fictional character do you relate to most?

This is so so hard! Maybe Hazel from Murder Most Unladylike or Harriet Manners from Geek Girl? I feel like I’ve said both of them loads for questions like this.

35. Do you like surprises?

They make me nervous. But I do get excited as well, especially if it’s a surprise gift or something from someone who knows me well.

36. What’s the biggest surprise you ever got?

I’m really struggling to think of a happy answer for this. The actual answer is when I found out I needed urgent brain surgery at the age of seven. Oooh, winning my UKYABA! I was up against Lucy Powrie and she’s such a huge inspiration to me so I was convinced there was a miscount honestly.

37. What’s a surprise that’s made you cry?

I was in floods for the UKYABA! Everything makes me cry though so really anything would fit for this one.

38. What’s the best surprise you’ve ever given anyone?

I can’t keep my mouth shut long enough to surprise anyone! I always end up slipping up and telling them.

39. Do you like muffins?

I can eat a bit of one, I always get bored though. They’re just a bit meh.

40. Do you cook often?

I very definitely do not. I don’t actually cook at all.

41. What’s your favourite dessert? Ice cream.

42. Is there a dessert you don’t like?

Pretty much everything else!

43. Cake or pie?

Neither.

44. What’s your least favourite food?

I absolutely hate oranges.

45. What’s your favourite condiment?

Probably just salt!

46. It’s 4am on a Saturday night, what would you eat?

I am an absolute lightweight and would never be awake at that time, but I really like eating chips a bit later! I never go out till that time so I don’t do it very often, generally it’s only if someone else has been out and brings me them I’d have something like that.

47. If you could teach a college class what would it be called?

I don’t know, either something to do with my actual degree because I’d love to lecture in them, or something to do with middle grade.

48. Best animated film?

My faves are Frozen and Tangled. And Zootropolis is ridiculously underrated.

49. What has a guy done or said to impress you?

I don’t think anyone has ever tried to!

50. Best thing to do on a first date?

I’ve never actually been on one, so pass if this means from personal experience 😦 Getting to know them?

51. Worst thing to do on a first date?

Again never been on one, but I’d hate it if someone was really silent and wouldn’t talk much. I’d get so nervous.

52. What’s the funniest pickup line a guy can use on a girl?

I don’t really like pickup lines! Not that anyone’s ever used one on me, but I’d hate it if someone did. They’re so cringe.

53. Best comic book character?

Don’t read any!

54. What are the three things that are always in your handbag?

A walking stick clip, my purse and a mask, nowadays.

55. Favourite drink?

Flavoured water

56. If you could play an historical character who would it be?

Ooh I don’t know! It would need to be someone I could play with a walking stick so I can’t really think of anyone.

57. Kittens or puppies?

Puppies but I love both!

58. Favourite sushi roll?

I don’t like sushi so none!

59. What kind of lipstick do you use?

My faves are Maybelline’s liquid lipsticks, the 12 hour ones. And my favourite colour of those is Pioneer, although Lover and Inspirer are also faves.

60. What kind of foundation do you use?

I don’t really use any! I tend not to wear it, I stopped after spine surgery and just never went back to it.

61. Blow dry or air dry?

Blow dry, I have quite short hair and it doesn’t really sit right if it’s not dried quite quickly.

62. Who is your fashion icon?

I don’t think I really have one? There are certain celebrities who I really love seeing what they’re wearing but I don’t like… base my own style on them.

63. Favourite Disney character?

Olaf!

64. What are you doing tomorrow?

I don’t know yet, really!

65. Movie you laughed the hardest through?

God, I’ve no idea! I think the 3rd Bridget Jones film.

67. If you could sing a duet with someone who would it be?

I absolutely can’t sing! But I guess Prentice from Vistas or George Ezra, because I’d LOVE to meet both of them so, so much. I think I’d go completely starstruck though, especially with George Ezra because I’ve loved him forever.

68. If your life was a song what would the title be?

No idea! I quite like the idea of it being Don’t Put Dirt on My Grave Just Yet or something though (that is a very niche song reference that you’ll only get if you were a Nashville fan!)

69. What’s your favourite animal?

I’m obsessed with tigers, and I obviously really love dogs as well. And dolphins are so gorgeous. I really love all animals to be honest.

70. Favourite illustrator?

I don’t know if this means for books or just in general? Probably Karl James Mountford or Becka Moor for interiors, and I think David Dean’s covers are unbeatable.

71. Person you want to have coffee with?

Hilarie Burton would be pretty much top of the list, I think she’s amazing.

72. What’s a country you’d love to visit?

France if I’m allowed to pick somewhere I’ve already been. Maybe America if its somewhere new? I don’t really travel so I don’t know.

73. Best way to decompress?

Listening to music! I love watching on concerts on YouTube if I’m stressed. My go to at the minute is Sea Girls’ TRNSMT set.
