The Christmas Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt Tag

Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be doing a really fun Christmassy tag that I saw on Kayleigh’s blog last year, which I really enjoyed even though it’s quite possibly the hardest book tag I’ve ever done. Onto the post!

1. A book set during Christmas

The Midnight Guardians, which is a new all time favourite for me.

2. Five cold words

Prisoner of Ice and Snow Explorers on Black Ice Bridge Snow Foal Pearl in the Ice Frost Hollow Hall

3. A red and green book cover

I wasn’t expecting this to be such a difficult one! It’s possibly a bit of a cheat when it’s not JUST these colours, but I think Uki and the Outcasts has both in it somewhere? Now I’m almost finished Podkin One Ear I can’t wait to finish his story and then start Uki’s in the companion series.

4. A character with a festive name

Holly from Beth Garrod’s lovely All I Want for Christmas!

5. A festive object

I’m pretty sure the cover of Tinsel, which I’m very excited to read soon, has a sleigh on it? Does that count? If not Poppy Pym and the Beastly Blizzard definitely has some mince pies on it.

6. A book with baking in it

Love, Lies and Lemon Pies is great! And I’m so excited for Luna Rae is Not Alone next year too.

7. A book cover with a wintery scene

The cover of Someday at Christmas is just the most gorgeous, snowy scene and the story inside is even better. And my current read Podkin One-Ear has a fantastic wintry cover (I bought it so long ago I have the original one that doesn’t match the rest of the series…)

8. A book cover with silver and gold

I’m straight up cheating here cause this is two books, but a Sky Painted Gold and A Snowfall of Silver are kind of a duology and I really love them/their covers so I’m going to give them a shoutout. They look STUNNING together.

9. A book that was a gift

My lovely friend Rachael sent me the Shadow Moth for my birthday last month, I’m so excited to read it! Promise it won’t as long as it took me for Podkin, Rach.

10. A title that describes how Christmas shopping feels

Oh my god this is so hard!! I always get very stressed when I’m doing it in person when the shops are too busy (I’m much more relaxed doing it all online this year, I always try to do most of it online anyway!) so maybe Buried Alive? I also get quite stressed in case people hate what I’ve picked for them! I do love it when I actually give them to people and they like them though, please don’t think I’m a Scrooge!!

11. Spell Santa Claus using book titles

Sky Chasers
Anna at War
Noah Can’t Even
Tinsel
Alex Sparrow and the Furry Fury

Charlotte’s Web
Little Bird Lands
All that Glitters
Under Earth
Snowglobe

Thank you so much for reading! What books on your shelf would have fit these prompts? What do you think of my choices? I’d love to hear in the comments!

  1. I’m do glad you’ve been drawn into the Five Realms! And I hope you enjoy Shadow Moth (even if it does take years to get to it ๐Ÿ˜‚)
Totally with you on the Christmas shopping. I have done pretty much all of mine at work or online, but through ‘real’ shops so I don’t feel too bad!
