Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be doing the 90s Movies book tag, which I found on Tsam’s blog. Onto the post!
She’s All That – A book with an odd pairing that somehow makes sense. A lot of the couples in Mhairi McFarlane’s books shouldn’t fit together, but with one exception (Here’s Looking at You), they all do and I love them.
10 Things I Hate About You – A book you have a love/hate relationship with. The only thing I can think of is a book I used to love and now hate, and my answer would be My Life Starring Mum. I have no idea how I ever liked it.
Clueless – A character that is totally clueless but that you love anyway.
Harriet from the Geek Girl series is pretty clueless sometimes, but she’s one of my absolute faves and always will be.
Titanic – A book that made you cry. I cry at loads of books, but I’ve never cried more over anything than I did the Skylarks’ War. I can’t tell you why though…
American Pie – A book that makes you laugh. Most recently, Storm by Nicola Skinner, who has joined my list of favourite authors in the past few months.
Can’t Hardly Wait – A book with an insane party. Saying anything other than A Sky Painted Gold, which has many fabulous parties, would be sacrilege.
Cruel Intentions – A character that you can never fully trust. There is a character in Amari and the Night Brothers who you ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT TRUST. You’ll want to, but you just shouldn’t.
Drive Me Crazy – Name your favourite “boy next door” or “girl next door” couple. Norah and Luke from Under Rose-Tainted Skies. It’s a beautiful story about a girl with agoraphobia and her relationship with the new boy next door, who absolutely doesn’t cure her, but helps her get better slowly at her own pace because he loves her.
Scream – A book with a memorable villain. Vespus from the Sorrow duology is one of the most memorable villains I’ve read. As are the ones from Hold Back the Tide. Mel Salisbury writes bloody SCARY villains.
The Craft – Name a book with witches. Ooh I love a good witchy book. There’s a lovely witch called Brigid in the Podkin One-Ear trilogy.
Thank you so much for reading! What’s your favourite 90s film? Have you read any of the books I’ve mentioned? I’d love to hear in the comments!
