Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be doing the Summer Bucket List book tag, which I’m pretty sure I haven’t done before. It was created by Tiffany, and I love the questions. Onto the post!
Hit The Beach: A Book Set By The Sea
Almost all of Nicola Skinner’s Starboard is set at sea, and absolutely all of it is wonderful. She has such a gloriously vivid imagination, her ideas are ingenious and her books make me laugh so much.
Watch Fireworks – A Book That Had a Fiery Romance
I’ve not long finished Beach Read as I’m writing this, and OH MY GOD, the chemistry in that book is electric. I could practically see sparks flying between January and Gus. So that, I guess. And also Last Night by Mhairi McFarlane because Fin is EVERYTHING and so is Evie.
Go For A Road Trip – A Book That Involves a Journey
The Ocean Squid Explorers’ Club takes place on a journey/voyage through the sea, so I feel like that would probably count?
Camp Under The Stars – A Book That Had You Starstruck
I’m assuming this is a book about celebrities, so I’m going to go for Daisy Jones and the Six because it’s one of my fave books of 2021 so far! I absolutely loved reading about this Fleetwood Mac inspired rock band that had a LOT of drama.
Marathon Some Movies – A Book You Couldn’t Put Down
I absolutely couldn’t put down Nicola Penfold’s Between Sea and Sky towards the end, there were some great twists and reveals and it was so thrilling to see how things would play out.
Go Out For Ice Cream – A Book With A Sweet Romance
I’m more of a cynical, sarcastic but still romantic romance book person, so I’m sort of stumped on this one. Maybe the Cornish Cream Tea Christmas? I really need to read the rest of the series! I guess the Switch was pretty sweet as well, especially Eileen’s sections.
Picnic In The Park – A Book That Was A Breath Of Fresh Air
I think A Clock of Stars is incredibly original, so I think that would be a good choice. It’s just got something really different about it that I’ve never read before.
Go For A Hike – A Character Who Conquered An Obstacle
I feel like every character does to some extent, but I’m going to go for the absolute delight that is Freddie Yates. I loved reading about his super miraculous journey and the way he and his friends Ben and Charlie managed to overcome every obstacle that was put in their way.
Grill Some BBQ – A Book Featuring Delicious Food
It’s an amazing book for SO MANY reasons, but the Faraway Truth made me unbelievably hungry for macaroni cheese. Like so hungry I had to have it for dinner that night.
Watch The Sunrise – A Book That Inspired You
God, this is hard. It’s an obvious one but Reasons to Stay Alive.
I’m not tagging enough specific but if anyone fancies trying this, I’d love to read your answers! Do you have any thoughts on the books I’ve mentioned? Are any of them on your TBR? Please come chat to me in the comments!
