Lightning Falls Blog Tour: Amy Wilson’s TBR Pile

Hello everybody! Today, I’m so thrilled to be part of the blog tour for Amy Wilson’s new release Lightning Falls, as I’ve loved her books since I first read a Girl Called Owl in 2017.

Rather fittingly, given that Lightning Falls is a book on my TBR I’m very excited for, Amy is sharing some books on her TBR she’s really looking forward to reading. Onto the post!

TBR pile

My TBR pile is spread all over the house, in little clusters of books that make me happy every time I look at them. I have a LOT of reading to do over the next few months, and here are some of the ones I’m looking forward to most:

I’ve been so looking forward to reading Julia and the Shark by Kiran Millwood-Hargrave, illustrated by Tom de Freston, out in September. I’ve loved all of Kiran’s books, there’s a real magic about the way she builds a world and its characters. The journeys take us through dangers and adversity so beautifully.

I also have Chime Seekers by Ross Montgomery to read – again, he’s an author whose work I’ve so enjoyed over the years. I love the humour he brings with his characters, and there’s a lovely darkness about his writing too – nothing is ever quite as you might expect.

Wish We Knew What To Say, by Pragya Agarwal – I’ve recently bought several copies of this to donate to schools, and I’ve saved one for myself, because it feels like essential reading, on talking with children about race.

Ripe Figs, by Yasmin Khan. This is a cookbook, with recipes and stories from the Eastern Mediterranean. I love to read the stories behind food inspiration – I bought it recently and it’s propped up in my kitchen looking gorgeous, all ready for me to devour.

The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna. I’ve heard so many good things about this one, in which a young heroine fights to save a world that would dare tame her, discovering she is her own fiercest weapon. I can’t wait to get in there and adventure with Deka.

Thank you so much for reading! Which books on your TBR are you most excited for? Do you have any in common with Amy? I’d love to hear in the comments!
