The Netflix Book Tag

Hello everybody! Today, I’m doing a tag I found on Steph’s blog, which has prompts related to Netflix. Onto the post!

Recently Watched- The last book you finished reading

At the time of writing this, Otherland by Louie Stowell! I have no idea what it’ll be by the time this goes up!

Top Picks- A book/books that have been recommended to you based on books you have previously read

Several people told me that I’d love the Secret Detectives because of how much I love Robin Steven’s and Katherine Woodfine. I absolutely did love it as well! I also get quite a few recommendations for anything where people think I’ll like the dogs!

Recently Added- The last book you bought

My most recent order that’s arrived is the Unexpected Tale of Bastien Bon Livre, which I’m looking forward to trying, although I always get nervous with books that have French or Spanish in them as I’m nitpicky and get annoyed by all the mistakes!

Popular on Netflix- Books that everyone knows about (2 you’ve read and 2 you have no interest in reading)

Two I’ve read- the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones and the Six immediately jumped to mind!! I loved both, but Daisy just a smidge more because I’m more into music than I am films. 2 I have no interest in… basically everything by David Walliams I’ve not read as I haven’t especially enjoyed any of his stuff I have read, and also I’ll never read anything else by Katie Fforde after HATING one of her books last year.

Comedies- A funny book

One I read recently that literally made me laugh out loud was Beth O’ Leary’s the Road Trip!

Dramas- A character who is a drama queen/king

A few people spring to mind, but Jack from Heartbreak Boys especially is just SCREAMING at me for this one. I love him so much.

Animated- A book with cartoons on the cover

I don’t know if I’m just dim but I don’t really know what would count as cartoons? Maybe the Diary of an Accidental Witch would count? It’s a new young MG series and it’s LOVELY, and I thought the illustrations were so sweet.

Watch It Again- A book/book series that you want to re-read

SO MANY! I really want to read all of Mhairi McFarlane’s books again because they’re amazing, I want to read the Flatshare again now I’ve read more romance and will probably love it even more, I want to read Geek Girl and all the sequels, the Pony Club Secrets books which were the light of my life as a kid and last but not least, I doubt I’ll manage it, but ideally I want to reread all the MMU books before the Ministry of Unladylike Activity comes out next August. Oh, I also need to complete my reread of the Sorrow duology!!

Documentaries- A non-fiction book you’d recommend to everyone

I don’t read a massive amount of non fiction, but some I really loved were Reasons to Stay Alive (I literally quote it to people in day to day life), This is Going to Hurt and Talking as Fast as I Can.

Action and Adventure- An action packed book

This is hard but maybe White Rabbit, Red Wolf! I can think of loads though!

New Releases- A book that just came out or will be coming out soon that you can’t wait to read

One book I’m absolutely dying to read that isn’t out yet is the Secret of Haven Point by Lisette Auton! I think I’m going to love it and I’m so here for an own voices fantasy about and written by a disabled person.

Thank you so much for reading! Are you a fan of a bit of Netflix? What’s the most recent thing you watched? And what are your thoughts on the books I’ve mentioned?! I’d love to hear in the comments!
