Quarterly Wrap Up: January to March 2022

Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be chatting through my stats for the first three months of this year, which aren’t as high as I’d have preferred them to be, but I’m nevertheless fairly happy with. I’ve made this a bit… chattier than they used to be I think, so I hope you like my commentary in brackets. Onto the post!

Number of books I read … overall: 57

Number of books I read… in January: 24

Number of books I read… in February: 17

Number of books I read… in March: 16

Average number of pages read (according to Goodreads at time of writing): 272

Longest book: I had to check goodreads for this one, and it was apparently the Spanish Love Deception. Which probably didn’t need to be nearly 500 pages tbh.

Shortest book: I think it must be Fagin’s Girl, even though Goodreads tells me it’s the Raven Riddle. It’s usually something from Barrington Stoke so either way that tracks.

MG: 43 (I feel like this is super on brand, but also I genuinely didn’t know it was that high?! Doing these posts is a wild ride for me, truly)

YA: 7

Adult: 7 (wayyyy lower than I thought it would be! This will be higher next time cause I have so much romance I want to get to soon)

Most-read genre: this is always a stab in the dark because I have no scientific method for this yet, but this time I feel quite confident in saying fantasy.

Average star rating: 4.3 (higher than last time!! Interesting… )

DNFs: 2 (both of which were adult books, Finlay Donovan is Killing It and A Marvellous Light, I only made it a few chapters into each because they were making me grind my teeth)

3 stars: 1 (pretty happy with that!!)

4 stars: 39

5 stars: 17

Authors I had read from previously vs authors I hadn’t read from before?

There were 28 I’d never read before, so I think that makes like 29 I had?

(I’m going to level with you, I am truly the worst at maths!! So this does not account for fancy things like if I read one person twice or whatever, my mind would simply melt, I tried to do this last year and ended up crying several times over it!!)

Thank you so much for reading! What are your thoughts on my stats? I’d love to hear about some of your stats for these three months too! Please come chat to me!

Amy xx

  1. There is so much in the MG catagory these days, these last few months, I can see why your stats are high there. MG really is my thing, unless it’s Rivers of `london – of which the new one is awesome by the way, that I have years worth to read now and catch up on. I need more me time and less work time.
