The Spring Book Tag

Hello everybody! Today, I’m very excited to be doing the Spring Book tag, which I saw Steph doing recently and immediately bookmarked. Onto the post!

1. WHAT’S ON YOUR SPRING TBR LIST?

Too much to try and list!!

2. IF SOMEONE ASKED YOU FOR A SPRING RELEASE RECOMMENDATION, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

One I’ve read that’s not out yet which I loved is Skandar and the Unicorn Thief! Hedgewitch also came straight to mind. Middle grade fantasy forever <33

3. WHICH TWO BOOKS COMING OUT BEFORE SUMMER ARE YOU EAGERLY AWAITING?

There are loads, but the two I’ll mention are Gay Club and the Extraordinary Adventures of Alice Tonks, just cause they were the first to pop into my head!

4. WHICH CHARACTER WOULD MAKE A GREAT EASTER BUNNY?

I’m going to go for Leon from the Asparagus Bunch, because while I haven’t read it yet I know he’s obsessed with sweets and I’m really excited to read it when I can.

5. WHAT BOOK MAKES YOU THINK OF SPRING?

The cover of the Accidental Apprentice honestly just screams spring to me, I don’t know why?! I’m excited to read it soon though. Also Just Right Jillian because it has a little baby chick on the cover 🙂

6. NAME A COVER WITH FLOWERS ON IT.

When The War Came Home has gorgeous poppies! I love David Dean as an illustrator and I think that cover is one of his absolute best.

7. WHICH TWO CHARACTERS WOULD YOU GO ON AN EASTER EGG HUNT WITH?

Daisy and Hazel from Murder Most Unladylike, cause their investigative skills would make them good at finding eggs. 8. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SPRING BOOKISH ACTIVITY? Reading outside in my summerhouse!! I cannot WAIT to do that for the first time this year.

9. WHICH BOOK DID YOU ENJOY THAT HAS A SPRING-LIKE COVER

Now, Steph mentioned a Sara Barnard book for this question also, so it feels slightly like cheating, but I really associate Destination, Anywhere with spring because I read it last April and it has a stunning yellow cover. It’s a gorgeous book about healing from school-associated trauma and it struck a huge chord with me. I sobbed basically the entire way through it and it just means the world to me ❤

10. WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE CONTEMPORARY AUTHOR?

Okay, so I have a fair few, but I’m going to shout out Janae Marks because no one I know reads her and she is AMAZING and you are all missing out.

Thank you so much for reading! What are your favourite things about spring? Do you have any thoughts on my answers to these questions? I’d love to have a chat in the comments!

  1. Love all those answers! I’d be hesitant to go on an egg hunt with Hazel and Daisy purely because I know it would likely involve death. 😉 Leon sounds a great Bunny candidate. And oh what a joy to have a home office to linger (for hours) in writing and reading. Heated for winter use also!
