Hello everybody! Two posts in two days, who even am I?! But Sophie tagged me to do this on Instagram and I decided to make it a blog post, so here we are. Onto the post!
Genre I stay away from?
I used to always say horror for this but I’ve actually started reading a tiny bit of horror so now I don’t really know?! Maybe lit fic?
Worst habit as a reader?
Definitely buying too many books, same as Sophie, much as I wish I had some dazzling and unique answer.
Do I read the synopsis?
if you read my most anticipated releases posts you’ll know that’s a no! I usually have a vague idea of what things are about from early reviews or stuff the author’s said, but almost every single book in those I’m like I JUST LIKE THE VIBES SO I’M BUYING IT OKAY. I use the word vibes way too much, in related news.
Do I read used books?
Yes, for sure! I love buying books second hand (if they’re in good condition, anyway, will never forget the book that turned up in my house with what looked like oil stains on the side :// )
Favourite book from last year?
Okay, that’s impossible, cause I have loads, but one of them would be Daisy Jones and the Six. I reread it last week and I loved it SO MUCH again; it’s just an incredible story told in an incredibly clever way.
Favourite classic?
I’m not really much of a classics gal, but I do love Charlotte’s Web and One Hundred and One Dalmatians because they’re so wholesome and lovely and we all know how obsessed I am with animals.
Book I always recommend?
I mean, it really depends on the person ! I’ve recommended the Appeal to a lot of people lately, so I’ll say that. Book I didn’t like? Most recently, the Secret of Splint Hall.
Current read?
At the time of writing, the Offline Diaries! Probably so things differen by the time this goes live though.
Books I’m looking forward to reading?
An advance copy of Witchlings arrived in my house the other day and I SCREAMED, so it seems like an obvious answer. But really there are so many, too many to list!!
Books I’m ashamed of not reading yet?
I mean, there are a LOT, being late to the party with books is kind of my brand. I’ll say Such a Fun Age cause I’ve been meaning to read it for ages and someone told me they really enjoyed it a couple weeks ago.
Thank you so much for reading! What are your thoughts on the books I’ve mentioned in my answers? What would yours have been? I’d really love to chat in the comments!
Amy xx
Great answers! I suspect all book reviewers and bloggers suffer from the same too many books TBR pile. š
