Hiiiiii! Did you know it was my 21st birthday yesterday? If not, it was!! I’ve answered the birthday book tag to celebrate, which I found on Lois’s blog. Onto the post!
Birthday Cake – A book with a plot that seems cliché but you adore it anyway
I mean, literally almost every romance book. I’ll say the Cheat Sheet cause it’s a recent fave in that genre and I know the author is having a tough time right now!
Party Guests – Your most anticipated book release this year I mean, the year is almost over!!
Soooo, my most anticipated release of next year is Cosima Unfortunate Steals a Star. I’m so lucky to have a proof, and I want it to be my first read of 2023. Turns out your pals getting published is an absolutely incredible feeling!!! Also absolutely dying for Silverborn but I suspect it’ll get pushed back again tbh 😦 (and I could talk about anticipating releases all day and still not manage to mention everything!!)
The Happy Birthday Song – A book that certainly deserved all the hype it got
Oooh, maybe Amari and the Night Brothers. I hugely need to get to the sequel soon!!
Happy Music – A book with some very beautiful and truly memorable quotes
I’m so rubbish at remembering quotes from books, even ones I’ve read a billion times… but one that always sticks in my head is about scars being a mark of our suffering and our survival, from No Ballet Shoes in Syria.
Getting Older – A book that you read a long time ago, but you think that you would appreciate it more if you read now
I was talking about them literally just the other day, so the Princess Diaries seems an apt choice! Also, I’m planning to reread the first two Percy Jackson books soon and then hopefully finish the series before the adaptation is out. I’m so buzzing about the Timothy Odmunson/disability rep news, honestly!!!
Sweet Birthday Memories – A book that kept you incredibly happy during a sad or demanding period of your life
God, I could pick so many things for this. Basically every book I’ve ever read and enjoyed over the majority over the past few years, to be totally honest ! But I can’t talk about some of the things so I’ll say Drew Leclair Takes the Case for variety because I’m pretty sure I’ve never said it before for a question like this, and it kept me company while I had a vestibular migraine.
Thank you so much for reading!! When’s your birthday? Do you have have thoughts on the books I’ve talked about? I’d love to chat in the comments !

Happy belated birthday to you! Sorry we missed the BIG DAY. Amari book 2 has to be our top read out of all of those. A Percy Jackson film would be rather cool to be honest, though I am not one for reading books after I have seen the films. Now, reading a book after Audible, well, that is another matter.
Heras to many more 21st Birthday Treats for you in the years to come.

Hahaha – “literally every romance book” – that first answer made me laugh!
They can’t push Silverborn back again 🫰🫰
Yes to Amari!
Did I tell you I’ve still never read Percy Jackson 😱 Planning on the audiobook when I finish Lockwood.
Hope you had an awesome birthday!xx
