Blog Tour Review: Alex Neptune, Pirate Hunter by David Owen
Hello everybody! Today, I’m delighted to be sharing my review for the new book in the Alex Neptune series. Onto the post!

This book picks up a short while after the first, and things in Haven Bay have vastly improved since Alex and the Water Dragon worked together to clear the pollution that was killing off sea life, with many marine animals now swimming there and a return of tourists means the seaside town is no longer struggling so much.
Then, because of course we can’t have a sequel without a new inciting incident, the Bay is attacked by pirates searching for a Water Dragon egg. Alex, his friends Zoey and Anil and a menagerie of sea creatures set out on a treasure hunt in order to stop them from fulfilling their mission. This book is just as fun and full of laughter as the first, if not more, and I continued to love the friendship between Alex, Zoey and Anil. I’m a massive sucker for animal characters, so they’re also a huge plus for me here, particularly the clumsy seal referred to in the blurb, and I also loved the introduction of Meri.
This is such a fast paced, thrilling adventure with lots of twists and turns, and as with the last one, it was just a really good time to be honest. I was delighted to hear two more books had been commissioned last week, as I’d have been very sad to say goodbye to Alex and co after just one more adventure I’m the summer.
Thank you so much for reading! Have you read any Alex Neptune books, or do you plan to? What are some of your favourite books connected with the sea? I’d love to chat in the comments!!
