Quarterly Wrap Up: January to March 2022

Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be chatting through my stats for the first three months of this year, which aren’t as high as I’d have preferred them to be, but I’m nevertheless fairly happy with. I’ve made this a bit… chattier than they used to be I think, so I hope you like my commentary in brackets. Onto the post!

Quarterly Wrap Up: October-December 2021

Hello everybody! I’m aware my posting schedule is a bit haywire at the moment, but it’s just because I’m trying to squeeze in end of year content with other things I’m planning for January. Onto the post!

Number of books I read … overall: 70

Number of books I read… in October: 25

Number of books I read… in November: 20

Number of books I read… in December: 25

Average number of pages read (according to Goodreads at time of writing): 300 pages (this is up from last time, which I wasn’t expecting but it’s a nice surprise!!)

Longest book: I’m almost certain it was a Single Thread of Moonlight! I think it was like 500 pages? I loved it so much.

Shortest book: I’m pretty sure it was Blossom by Laura Dockrill, which is a lovely little novella from Barrington Stoke.

MG: 46

YA: 12

Adult: 12

Most-read genre: oddly, as I wasn’t expecting this, I think it might be contemporary! I suppose this is probably because I did an adult/YA review post and one focused solely on MG contemporary as well. As I always say though, I don’t work this out with any scientific method so really it could be anything 😂

Average star rating: 4.2 stars

DNFs: 1

2 stars: 1

3 stars: 1

4 stars: 54

5 stars: 13

Authors I had read from previously vs authors I hadn’t read from before?

42 vs 27 (I feel like this number may not be quite right but I have recounted so many times and still come up with the same ones, so I feel like it may be because I read about 4 books by the one author this quarter and only counted her once? I’ve also fallen quite a lot in the past few days and I’m not feeling great, so my brain is too fuzzy to keep doing maths past this point. So, basically, please forgive me if it seems off!)

Thank you so much for reading! Do you find these posts interesting? Is there anything you think I should add to them going forward in 2022? I’d love to hear in the comments!

Amy x

Quarterly Wrap-Up: July-September 2021

Hello everybody! So, I basically totally forgot to write this post at the actual end of the quarter, but didn’t want to not do it, so hopefully people will still read it even though we’re now a good chunk of the way through October… onto the post!

Quarterly Wrap Up: April-June 2021

Hello everybody! Today I’m going to be doing my second quarterly wrap up of the year, which I’ve only started in 2021 but I love doing because I always find stats interesting. I’m so proud of how much I’ve managed to read this year so far (and how much of it I’ve loved!).

Going into 2021 I knew I wanted to read so much more than I have been the past few years (even though I still read quite a lot of books), although I think I’ve also been drawn more to shorter books this year. Onto the post!

Quarterly Wrap Up: January to March 2021

Hello everybody! So, in almost 4 years of blogging I’ve somehow never written a wrap up post, but I really enjoy reading other people’s and I especially love BooksandLala’s (whose YouTube channel I am OBSESSED with) quarterly version that she does, which is why I’ve decided to make mine that often, if people enjoy reading it at least. I’m a wee bit nervous given I don’t really know what exactly I’m going to include, but anyway, onto the post!
