Blog Tour Review: Lie or Die by A.J Clack

Hello everybody! Today, I’m delighted to be part of the Lie or Die blog tour with my review. Also, if you head over to my social medias (goldenbooksgirl on both twitter and Instagram!), you’ll find a giveaway where the publisher is giving away five copies via me.

This is a YA thriller that kind of mashes up the concepts of Big Brother and the Traitors to form the premise of its own reality show, with a high tech twist (and plenty of plot twists too!).

We follow a girl named Kat whose friend applied on her behalf, and watch as things descend into terror and chaos when people start dying for real. This raises a lot of really interesting questions about the toxic side of reality TV and the rise of artificial intelligence, making it a pretty thought provoking read as well as a pacy, gripping thriller.

I genuinely couldn’t put it down towards the end, and got very worried about the characters I was particularly fond of, although pretty much everyone involved in the show is hiding something and has their flaws. I also feel unsure how to say this without spoiling anything, but the last page of this does one of my favourite things a thriller can do! I’m really excited and intrigued to see what the author writes next, as this really was a great debut.

Thank you so much for reading! Have you read this, or do you want to? What’s been your favourite thriller lately? Please do head over and enter the giveaway if you’re a thriller fan 😊 Amy xxx
