My Favourite Disney Love Songs

Hello everybody!

Today it’s time for another love themed post, I’m going to be writing about my favourite romantic Disney songs. Onto the post! (Please note there will be a spoiler for Frozen if you haven’t seen it!)

Love is An Open Door- this one is possibly marred a bit by the fact that Hans turns out to be an evil villain who wants to kill Anna, but it’s still a seriously good song. It’s catchy, pretty funny and I just really like the scene. It doesn’t take the crown for my favourite Frozen song, but it has tough competition seeing Let it Go is spectacular, and In Summer is the most joyous song possibly ever, and I still like it a lot.

Kiss the Girl- I love the Little Mermaid soundtrack an awful lot; Sebastian is the best. This song, which is sung when Ariel and Eric take a boat trip together and Eric must kiss Ariel in order for her to remain human, so Sebastian is attempting to set a romantic vibe and coax him into it. This is super fun, and it’s different to alnost any other Disney love song I can think of since it’s not the couple who sing it.

Can You Feel the Love Tonight- another sing that fits that bill is this one from the Lion King. It’s written by Elton John and it’s beautiful, and it’s one of the loveliest scenes in the film (even though the writing in the sky caused all that controversy…).

I See the Light– this is definetly the most visually stunning scene of Tangled (and as someone who loves purple and gold, as you can probably tell from my blog colours, may I just say I highly approve of the colour scheme of it too). It’s a totally beautiful song, and as a Chuck fan it always surprises me just how good a singer Zachary Levi actually is!

Something that I Want– this is SUCH a good song, and I think I’d count it as a love song. It plays over the end credits of Tangled, and my interpretation of the lyrics are that it’s about Rapunzel and Flynn, and how finding each other changes their lives (that may be totally wrong, but it’s the way I understand it and it feels like a love song. Do you agree? Let me know in the comments!). It’s toe-tappingly catchy, I love the lyrics and how it sort of tells the story of the film, and I also just really, really like Grace Potter’s voice!

Thank you so much for reading! What are your favourite Disney love songs? I’d love to hear from you in the comments or on Twitter @GoldenBooksGirl!
