Hello everybody! I have been a bit quiet on the blog this week because I had exams and before that had a much more fun busy week where I basically forgot to schedule anything for Wednesday, but I’m BACK and I will be annoyingly active over the summer so please prepare to hear from me a whole lot 🙂
Anyway, onto the post!
Ajay and the Mumbai Sun- I have a review copy of this so I’m hoping to get to it very soon; it’s about a boy who lives in Mumbai railways with his friends after being abandoned starting his own newspaper and it just sounds like such a lovely contemporary.
The Great Fox Illusion– I’ve talked about this before and said that the synopsis is quite vague, but I just really like the sound of it and I’m excited to get more of an idea of what it’s about when I read it.
The Girl Who Lost a Leopard– I really liked both this author’s previous books, so I’m sure her 3rd book, another about animals and adventure and friendship, will also be a winner for me.
The Offline Diaries– again, the synopsis for this one doesn’t give that much away- all I know is that it’s about the friendship between two Black girls.
Secrets of the Stormforest– this is the third and final book in the Strangeworlds Travel Agency and I’m very excited for it after how much I enjoyed the last one!!
The Light in Everything– I really loved Katya Balen’s last book October, October, so I’m excited for more of her lyrical writing and reading about a complicated blended family situation.
The Sisters of Luna Island– I love the sound of this SO MUCH, even though I haven’t yet read the author’s debut. I mean, who doesn’t love books about sisters and magic??
The Sky Over Rebecca- this is a timeslip middle grade that I am so excited to get to, hopefully this month as I have an early review copy. The cover is absolutely stunning and it sounds very much up my street 🙂
Wilder Than Midnight- this is another one I have a review copy of and I’m super excited to get to it because I am constantly banging the drum for more ownvoices disability rep and I’m excited that this has some. It also sounds like a gorgeously fairytale-esque fantasy AND the main character share shares a name with one of my dogs
Coming Up for Air– I thoroughly enjoyed Fig Swims the World back in either January or February, and I’m so excited for this companion novel. Also fun fact if you didn’t know, this book was my first EVER cover reveal so it already has a super special place in my heart 💕
You Can Trust Me– I am SUPER excited for this YA thriller that examines rape culture, and has Holly Jackson comparisons in the blurb. The cover is ridiculously pretty as well.
Vile Stars– I do not read a lot of books about abusive relationships because given the statistics around this for disabled people, it genuinely terrifies me and thinking about it for too long makes me unbelievably anxious. HOWEVER, I really loved this author’s last book This Can Never Not Be Real, and so when I’m feeling in the right sort of headspace, I will definitely pick this up.
Mad About You– I love Mhairi McFarlane’s writing an absolutely insane amount. Last Night basically broke me so I’m hoping this one is just good vibes and romcom joy, but tbh I’ll love it regardless because even when her characters are going through hell, she’s so witty you’re laughing and crying at the same time.
The No Show– again, I’m a huge fan of Beth O’ Leary so her new release is just an absolute autobuy. I do love the concept as well though, it’s about a man standing up 3 different women on Valentine’s Day and the ensuing events.
A Brush with Love– this is one of those ones where I genuinely couldn’t work out whether it was out last month or in April because different dates were on different websites?! It’s an adult romance (allegedly a very spicy one 😏) about people who are training to be dentists.
Thank you so much for reading! What are some of your most anticipated April releases? Are there any on my list you’re going to add to yours now? I’d really love to chat with you in the comments!

I mean who isn’t there for Strangeworlds, more so as it is the conclusion. The Girl Who Lost a Leopard is, I think, the No.1 must-read for me. The Sisters of Luna sounds interesting, and I wonder if this is going to be like Michelle’s series, all magical and compelling? Look forwards to your review of that. Back to series business for me now. Have a great week.

I think Sisters of Luna Island does sound a bit like Widdershins, possibly with a bit of Cassie Beasley mixed in too! I’m so excited to get my hands on it. Hope you have a lovely week too :))
