The Pride Book Tag ~ 2022 Edition

Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be doing the Pride Book Tag, which was created by Elle. Onto the post!

1. YA I’m going to say one I’ve literally just read that I’ve not seen much love for which is If This Gets Out. It’s such a brilliant read, about two boys in a boyband who fall for each other and have to navigate coming out to the world.

2. Author

Simon James Green writes glorious books about awkward teenage boys, and different parts of the LGBTQ+ community. I adore his writing beyond words, go read him!

3. Historical

It feels like a cheat because I’ve literally just seen an insta post about it, but Last Night at the Telegraph Club is the main one coming to mind. I also have Spin Me Right Round, which is set in the 80s, on my TBR.

4. Book You Can’t Wait to Read

God, so many I couldn’t possibly name them all! One that jumps out to me is Small Town Pride, because I’m really sad it wasn’t released in Pride month and I can’t decide if I should keep it for pride 2023 or just read it between it’s release and then…

5. Adult

Ummm, when this post goes up, I think I’ll have just started Double Booked by Lily Lindon and I’m very excited for that! It’s a romcom about a bi woman living a double life.

6. Graphic Novel

I don’t think I have ever read a graphic novel, and I know this is a very basic answer, but if I ever do it will almost definitely be heartstopper because I love Alice Oseman and the adaptation was brilliant.

7. Wildcard/Free Choice!

I’ve not mentioned Benjamin Dean’s brilliant MG books or his forthcoming ya, which I respectively love/can’t wait for, so they seem like the natural choice.

Thank you so much for reading ! What have you been reading this pride? What/who are some of your fave LGBTQ+ books/authors? Do you have any thoughts on things I’ve mentioned? Please do come chat to me in the comments!!
