The Hyped for Halloween Book Tag

Hello everybody! Today, I’m going to be doing the Hyped for Halloween tag, which I found on Aoife’s blog. Onto the post!

1. What book gave you the creeps?

Most recently, the Haunting of Aveline Jones! I have a review coming soon to share more thoughts, but it definitely spooked me and I’d 100% recommend it.

2. What book gives you the best Halloween vibes?

I’m cheating here because it’s just general autumn vibes but the Castle of Tangled Magic! I always used to reread Stacey and the Haunted Masquerade at Halloween.

3. What’s your favorite vampire book?

I don’t think anyone will ever have heard of these, but I was OBSESSED with the My Sister the Vampire series. They went very far downhill after book 10, but I loved them so much. The Shadowhunters series has some great vampires as well. I’ve never read Twilight or Vampire Academy or anything like that though, I’ve just never fancied them!

4. What book scared you so much you had to sleep with the light on?

Close Your Pretty Eyes. I reckon I’d still find it chilling now. And I found Looking for JJ really unsettling, for much more realistic reasons. Both amazing books though.

5. What’s your favorite book about witches/goblins/ghosts/demons?

I’m going to go for ghosts here, and mention Emma Carroll. Frost Hollow Hall is one of the best ghost stories I’ve ever read, and it was the book that first made me fall in love with her writing so it’s very special to me.

6. What book do you wish was scarier than it was?

Ooh none of them, I’m such a wuss!

7. What’s your favorite book that takes place in October?

I’m fairly sure the Mystery of the Vanishing Skeleton takes place in October! It’s my absolute favourite of the Adventure Island books.

What’s your favourite thing about Halloween? Do you have any thoughts on the books I’ve mentioned? I’d love to hear in the comments!
